We began our family business in 1981, as Windmill View Wholesale Nurseries, growing and supplying alpines to garden centres and nurseries around the country. In 2003, we decided to change direction, and now sell directly to the public through our plant centre.Landscapers are also welcome. As we are growers, there is always a large range of stock available.
The nursery has a large outside sales area full of different plants, where you can enjoy browsing at leisure. There are also two spacious covered areas, where we display some of our larger plants, and also our range of climbers. A third glasshouse is devoted entirely to bedding, patio plants, hanging baskets, and tubs. Our display gardens are open all year round, so customers can wander around and see species in their mature state.
We aim to offer a wide range of hardy plants, in all sizes, all year round. If you are looking for something particular, or something unusual, then try us first! We aim to cater both for those who like to watch their garden grow and develop, and also for those who prefer the instant effect.
In season, we sell bedding and basket plants, also hanging baskets and tubs. A refilling service is available for your own baskets, please see the ' Seasonal Sales' page for details.
Composts, gravels, and a small range of sundries including seeds and fertilisers are stocked, please see the ' Sundries' page for information.
We have a self-service hot drinks machine, there are also cold drinks and locally made Thaymar Ice Creams for sale.
Help and advice is always on hand, or if you prefer to browse, then we hope you will enjoy doing just that. Please don't let the bad weather put you off,we have umbrellas for you to use should it rain whilst you are with us!
